This is a contemporary street scene captured in 2013 with a professional digital camera, as shot by Bill. Its composition is precise and artful, but it is nevertheless an ordinary moment in London life. Being a Londoner myself, I could almost look at this as being too mundane and thus miss the ‘art’ in the shot. For anyone else who is unfamiliar with London it may appear exotic and dynamic, and indeed quite artful. This demonstrates the way in which our individual perceptions can change depending on our own cultural backgrounds, and the expectations we might have with regards to what is normal and of importance.
